Currently there is a high demand for quality forest products, which implies the need to create highly productive plantations with excellent qualities. Through the correct selection of species from an ecological and economic point of view, and the implementation of genetic improvement programs, we can increase yields and resistance to adverse factors and contributing to the expansion and conservation of the genetic base of these species.
There are several goals of a genetic improvement program. These include increasing the yield and quality of trees, the development of lines of trees resistant to pests and diseases or with special characteristics for a given product, or even improving the ability of trees to adapt to marginal lands, which represent adverse conditions for forest production. All of this is aimed primarily at increasing the productivity and adaptability of these species, as well as the long-term conservation of existing genetic diversity.
Currently the demand for quality products is increasing and the industry must respond with optimal woods; cloning ensures the obtaining of genetically homogeneous materials, free of pests and diseases for the establishment of productive plantations from trees with outstanding characteristics, which can make a big difference when it comes to commercial competition.
In our laboratories we have the highest technology that allows us to reproduce those specimens that demonstrate great superiority in the characters sought, thereby achieving improvement in the quality of the woods, greater volumetric growth of the trees, better adaptability to specific conditions of soils and even greater resistance to diseases and severe weather phenomena, such as frost or drought.
At VITROTREE we offer our clients a wide range of trees, specifically selected, in order to obtain a unique, quality, sustainable and ecological wood.
Thanks to the R&D effort and the experience gained in the use of biomass, VITROTREE has managed to develop advanced technology that allows it to collaborate in international biomass generation projects.
VITROTREE develops bio-products and economically competitive processes, derived from plant raw materials and by-products from the forestry and agricultural industry.
